As a socially responsible L3C company, Carbon Bamboo has the opportunity to partner with NGO’s, developing countries, and individuals to support bamboo charcoal industry. It is an eloquently simple solution. Bamboo is a grass, it replenishes itself, is never clear-cut, and the plants live 80-120 years. Unlike bamboo, which matures and can be harvested in 3 to 5 years, it takes trees of hard and soft woods typically 10 to 50 years until they reach full maturity. This timeframe makes the act of reinvesting in the next cycle of tree harvest too slow. Bamboo has the potential to bring “hardwood” biomass fuel to scale a lot faster and provide future income-generating opportunities through other bamboo-based products.
